NOTICE OF OPEN-HOUSE PUBLIC HEARING ON RECONSTRUCTION OF INTERSTATE 64 (I-64) FROM WEST OF SPOEDE ROAD TO WEST OF SARAH STREET, AND OF INTERSTATE 170 (I-170) FROM SOUTH OF BRENTWOOD BOULEVARD TO EAGER ROAD IN ST. LOUIS CITY AND COUNTY Notice is hereby given to all interested persons that a public hearing will be held at the St. Louis Science Center (lower level), 5050 Oakland Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST). Access for the physically disabled is available. All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning their views on the reconstruction of I-64, St. Louis City and County with reference to the economic and social effects of such location, its impact on the environment and its consistency with the goals and objectives of the community. An open-house format will be used, and persons may discuss the project and offer comments at any time between the prescribed hours. The presently contemplated improvement is as follows: Add one additional lane each direction from Spoede Road to I-170. Reconstruct bridges, pavement and interchanges on I-64 and I-170 within project limits to current standards, including directional interchange at I-170/I-64. Maps, plats, a Draft Environmental Impact Statement, and other detail information prepared by the Missouri Department of Transportation, or interested agency, will be available in English for public inspection and copying at the office of the District Engineer of the Missouri Department of Transportation, 1590 Woodlake Drive, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017, or at www.thenewi64.org. Written statements and exhibits as well as oral statements will be received at the hearing. Written statements and exhibits will be made a part of the public hearing transcript if received by February 28, 2003. If written in another language, they will be translated into English at no charge. Tentative schedules for right of way acquisition and construction will be discussed at the hearing.
