Great St. Louis Celebration of 2003 Chinese New Year By St. Louis Chinese Association We take great pleasure in announcing the event of great St. Louis celebration of 2003 Chinese New Year. St. Louis Chinese Association (SLCA) is a non-profit and non-political organization. It was founded in 1997. The SLCA’s mission is to promote exchanges between the Chinese and other cultures for harmonization and unity among different ethic groups in the US society. Since its foundation, the SLCA has each year organized an event of great St. Louis celebration of Chinese New Year and other cultural activities. The coming event will take place at 7:00 pm, February 1, 2003 in the theater of St. Louis Community College, 5600 Oakland Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110. Major activities will include: opening ceremony, art performance, movie, TV shows, karaoke, dancing, chess games, children’s recreational programs, and prize-drawing to encourage participation of the public. Admission for the event will be free to SLCA members, their families, and those who register on site for SLCA membership. For others, $3.00/person. The event will be sponsored by the SLCA. Co-sponsors include: St. Louis Community College, Organization of Chinese Americans (St. Louis), St. Louis Modern Chinese School, St. Louis Chinese Language School, the Center of International Studies of the University of Missouri, St. Louis Chinese Culture and Education Service, Association of Chinese Students and Scholars of Washington University, the Association of Chinese Students of the University of Missouri, the Association of Chinese Students of the St. Louis University.
