Volunteers sought for BJC Hospice in St. Louis Training dates have been set for volunteers for BJC Hospice in the St. Louis area. Volunteers are needed who are interested in visiting hospice patients in their homes and in nursing homes. Volunteers do a variety of tasks, including visiting with patients, babysitting, running errands or helping with housekeeping or cooking. Office volunteers are also needed at the BJC Hospice office in Ladue. Tasks include filing, copying and other light office duties. If interested in bereavement support volunteer work, training is also available for that service. Bereavement support volunteers assist the Bereavement Coordinator by calling or visiting the family after a death or by filling out paperwork. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, have their own transportation and be able to work during weekdays and some evenings. Hours are flexible. The next training for selected volunteers will be held June 10th, 12th, 17th and 19th in the evenings, a total of 12 hours. Training sessions take place at 9890 Clayton Road in Ladue.
