Rockwood Graduate Receives State AP Award

ST. LOUIS, NOVEMBER 18, 2003- Marquette High School graduate Silpa Kaza is one of only two students in Missouri to be named as a 2003 AP State Scholar. Kaza, who graduated from Marquette in May, is currently studying engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The AP State Scholar award is granted to one male and one female student in each U.S. state who achieves grades of 3 or higher on the greatest number of Advanced Placement Exams and the highest average grade (at least 3.5) on all AP Exams taken. 

In addition to the State Scholar award, the College Board recognized more than 240 Rockwood students and graduates as AP Scholars. The list includes 57 students from Eureka High School, 69 from Lafayette, 95 from Marquette and 21 from Rockwood Summit.
