Arianna String Quartet 2003-04 concert schedule - UMSL quartet-in-residence features new violist

The critically acclaimed Arianna String Quartet has a new member as it prepares for its fourth season as the quartet-in-residence at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Violist Robert Meyer will join longtime members John McGrosso, violin; Rebecca Rhee, violin; and Kurt Baldwin, cello. More information on the quartet can be viewed online at www.ariannaquartet.com.

The quartet's 2003-04 concert schedule will include several performances in the 300-seat E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater inside the new Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center at UMSL. Other shows will take place at the Sheldon Concert Hall, 3648 Washington Blvd. in St. Louis, and The Ethical Society of St. Louis, 9001 Clayton Road in Ladue.

The day before each pair of shows, the quartet will hold a family concert at the Lee Theater. These concerts will explore all aspects of concert going, from when to clap to what makes Beethoven great. The entire family will get a close-up, interactive look at some of the world's greatest music.

Admission, payable at the door, is $10 for adults and free for children under 17.
